Alternative Routes into Teaching - Expressions of Interest from schools
Welsh Government and the four Regional Consortia are in the process of procuring two new pathways into teaching: a salaried route and a part-time route. With funding available, we are looking for expressions of interest from schools who might engage in this initiative as:
1. A ‘base’ teaching and learning school to facilitate school based programme content. Here, a trained facilitator will work with a cohort of students to develop pedagogy and the application of theory in practice
2. A placement school for a salaried ITE student. This would be a 4 term, paid placement where the student would experience an incrementally increasing teaching workload throughout, with the support of a school mentor.
3. A placement school for a part-time ITE student. This would be a 6 term, part-time placement, where the student would be released from an existing job while still earning a salary. They would experience an incrementally increasing teaching workload throughout, with the support of a school mentor.
Please register your expression of interest by completing the following form by 31st January 2019, to indicate your suitability as a base school or placement school and return to: firstname.lastname@example.org
